San Francisco 3rd best housing market for Sellers

by Rob Regan on February 15, 2013

This from the National Association of Realtors listing the top 5 “Best Places to Sell” a home and ranking San Francisco 3rd:

San Francisco, CA. Prices have risen dramatically, inventories are down drastically and properties are selling in less than two months. The inventory shortage created a powerful sellers’ market where list prices rose more than 20 percent in the past year, a sure sign that sellers can anticipate a profitable spring season.

Unfortunately we’re not getting the hoped for post Superbowl bounce in listings with only 441 total housing units (homes, condos, TIC’s, etc) listed as “Active” for-sale on the San Francisco MLS.  That’s anywhere from 33% to 50% of a normal mid-February market in San Francisco.

Interestingly #1 is Sacramento and #2 is San Jose…. and this is a National list.  Here’s the link to the full report.
